Full Itinerary

Day 1/ Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Your private safari guide will get you up from your Arusha hotel at 7:30 a.m. and drive you to Tarangire National Park, which is famed for its big population of elephants. Tarangire National Park is enormous. It reaches as far south as the eye can see from the park gate. The “Elephant Playground” is an exquisite park that is home to enormous herds of these gorgeous creatures.

Tarangire, on the other hand, is home to buffalo, lions, wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle, and the park’s animal density equals that of the Serengeti. What do you expect to see today? Possibly a lone male lion lying down beneath a tree, or a trio of male cheetahs bonding in the sun. Maybe an elegant Grant’s gazelle, a zebra sprinting away from the road, or a giraffe happily eating on the best acacia branches. Tarangire’s specialties include kudu and oryx. After leaving the park late in the afternoon, you’ll drive to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2 / Safari in Serengeti National Park

After an early breakfast, we will collect our lunch boxes and go west and north. Everyone knows that our thrilling destination is the Serengeti! With the Serengeti as our target and Tarangire’s marvels still fresh in your mind, we’ll embark on a 3-hour journey to the north and west. Along the ride, you can ask your driver-guide anything about Tanzanian culture, traditions, tribes, and, of course, animals. Treat him like a mobile encyclopedia; he’ll never disappoint you with his answers! You’ll feel like an expert even before you reach the spectacular Serengeti plains.

When we arrive, we’ll have lunch before going on our afternoon game drive. Here, your afternoon game drive combines the known and the unknown, with the certainty that you will be amazed countered by the uncertainty of what and when you will see it. Late in the afternoon, drive to the comfort of your tented camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3 / Serengeti to Lake Eyasi

Today’s journey will take us away from the Serengeti National Park. After our morning game drive, we might look for any animals that have passed your eagle-eyed driver-guide thus far. After lunch, we’ll head south to Lake Eyasi. Here, we’ll be reminded that Tanzania is home to both great wildlife and a rich human culture.

The Datoga tribe is our hosts this afternoon, and they will show us around their hamlet and explain us about their customs and traditions. It’s a lively event you won’t soon forget. Arrive late at night, just in time for a nice dinner and a restful night’s sleep.

Day 4 / Cultural Experience in Lake Eyasi (Bushmen and Datoga Tribe)

Lake Eyasi is famous for having one of the world’s remaining hunter-gatherer cultures. The Hadzabe bush people do not raise their own food, own cattle, or adhere to any laws or calendars. They have a hunter-gatherer lifestyle that hasn’t evolved much in the last 10,000 years. You will be able to witness Hadzabe’s traditional survival tactics, such as hunting. You can be confident that nothing is hunted that will not be completely used.

The Hadzabe way of life is full of beauty and calm, and it respects the environment and all of its residents. Go to Karatu after lunch and check into your lodge, which is ideally positioned near the entrance to our next destination, the Ngorongoro Crater.

Day 6/ Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha

We’ll go on game drives today through the beautiful Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest unbroken volcanic caldera and the core of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Ngorongoro Crater is a one-of-a-kind habitat for many different types of Tanzanian wildlife. If you’re lucky, you might even spot a black rhino. We left our safari lodge at 6:00 a.m. after breakfast to reach the rim and then descend into the huge crater itself. On one side, the Lerai Forest is a classic alpine forest environment with almost tropical qualities.

The crater is home to a significant population of lions, leopards, wildebeests, zebras, elephants, hyenas, black rhinos, buffalo, Thomson’s gazelles, and elands. Hippos can be seen in ponds and swampland, and highland birdlife is numerous around the water. Flamingos inhabit Lake Magadi, which occupies a portion of the crater floor.

Later in the afternoon, you will be transferred by road to Arusha or the airport, depending on your current itinerary.
