Overview

This is our most well-known itinerary since it embodies all our firm stands for. You will get the opportunity to visit all of the parks on Tanzania’s Northern Safari Circuit (including three nights in the Serengeti, which is the optimal timeframe for us), as well as have intriguing cultural experiences with the Hadzabe tribe in Lake Eyasi, on this journey.

Full Itinerary

Day 1/ Tarangire National Park

We will take you up from your accommodation at 8 a.m. and take you to a wonderful national park. Tarangire is famous for its diverse environment, which features nine unique vegetation zones. The park is famous for its density of Ancient Baobab trees (the continent’s largest trees), which dominate the terrain and dwarf the animals that live there.

Wildlife in the park’s river includes lions, leopards, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes, and, of course, elephants. In fact, the park has the highest population of elephants in the country, allowing rare possibilities to watch elephant family dynamics. The lunch area is amazing, with an observatory affording great views of the river and wildlife (there’s a strong chance you’ll see a hunt while you’re there). We will still go on afternoon game drive before heading to our lodge.

Day 3/ Lake Manyara National Park

We will take you up from your hotel at 8 a.m. A scenic drive across the Great Rift Valley leads to Lake Manyara National Park, where you can spend the day game viewing. Despite its small size (205 square miles), the park is highly recognized for its lush acacia forest, big figs, and mahogany trees, as well as a baboon and blue monkey population that is rising. The park’s permanent occupants include giraffes, elephants, impalas, and a huge number of buffaloes. On the lake, hippos can also be spotted in considerable numbers. The park’s unique characteristics include tree-climbing lions, flamingos on the lakefront, the Ground Hornbill, and the Crested Eagle.

Lake Manyara’s vistas are spectacular, and game drives along the lake provide fantastic photo opportunities with giraffes and buffaloes in the foreground and the lake (and its flamingos) in the background. On this day, additional tours, such as a bike tour or a boat excursion, are offered. In the afternoon, return to the camp/ lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3 / Serengeti National Park

Following an early breakfast, head for the world’s most famous national park, the Serengeti. Despite its length, the driving is fantastic. You’ll travel up the crater highlands, pausing short at the rim for a spectacular view of the Ngorongoro Crater. Anyone who sees it for the first time will have a once-in-a-lifetime experience. When you go farther into the Serengeti, you’ll realize why the word means “endless plains” in Swahili. The park spans 6,900 square miles (18,000 square kilometers), and the plains stretch to the horizon for the most part, challenging your notion of distance.

It is home to 2 million wildebeests, hundreds of thousands of zebras, and a wide variety of antelopes, including numerous impalas and Thomson’s gazelles. It’s the location to go to watch lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas, with many television scenes, such as the renowned river crossings, being filmed here. This park is home to foxes, mongooses, honey badgers, jackals, monkeys, baboons, rock hyrax, and african hares, as well as over 500 bird species.

You can stop at Olduvai Gorge on your way to the park, a well-known location where Dr. Louis and Mary Leakey discovered the remains of the first man to walk on the Earth. This tour includes a short talk about the archeological digs and geologic features of the gorge, as well as a visit to their museum.

Day 4-6 / Serengeti National Park

The Serengeti National Park is an excellent destination for a few days. We are entirely open to your choices, and this day will be arranged around them. Every day of your safari, your guide will advise you on the ideal times for game drives and wake-up calls. You may do a morning game drive, then return to camp for lunch and relaxation before embarking on an afternoon game drive, or you could do a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch.

Day 7/ Ngorongoro Conservation Area

We recommend getting up extremely early on this day to go on an early morning game drive (when the animals are more active) and enjoy one of the most spectacular sunrises you’ll ever see. It’s one of the most lovely things you can do. We’ll return to the camp for a sumptuous lunch before travelling to Ngorongoro, the world’s eighth wonder, after the game drive. The crater has 2.000-foot-high walls and encompasses 102 square miles, making it a virtual Noah’s ark that is home to practically every species of East African fauna. It is one of the few spots on the continent where a black rhinoceros can be seen.

Africa has the most wildlife density of any continent. Inside the crater, there is a river, various marshes, a soda lake with a huge concentration of flamingos, a forest, and wide plains. It’s also famous for its elephants, who have the world’s greatest tusks. This is owing to the high mineral concentration of volcanic soil and grasses. The Ngorongoro Crater is a World Natural Wonder.

You’ll arrive in Ngorongoro in time for a sundowner.

Day 8 / Ngorongoro Crater

We’ll start the day early, descending into the crater floor for a fantastic morning of wildlife in one of the most beautiful sites on the planet. There will be time after the game drive for a picnic lunch at the lovely Hippo Lake. After lunch, we will do a brief game drive before ascending the crater and leaving the Ngorongoro Conservation Area for Lake Eyasi, where you will have a unique and intriguing cultural experience the following day.

Day 9 / Tribes of Lake Eyasi, Hadzabe, and Datoga

It is going to be a very spectacular and one-of-a-kind day. You’ll wake up early, just before sunrise, and follow your guide until he discovers the Hadzabe tribe, one of Africa’s remaining truly nomadic tribes. You will be welcomed to participate in the tribe’s daily morning activities after a brief introduction to the tribe.

This is an off-the-beaten-path event that is not at all touristy. The photographic opportunities are endless. This expedition will surely be one of your safari’s highlights. Accompanying the males on their daily hunts or the ladies on their fruit harvesting activities are two instances of tribal experiences. In this book, you will learn about many facets of the Hadzabe way of life.

Following our activities with the tribe, we will go to Lake Eyasi, a seasonally shallow salt lake on the floor of the Great Rift Valley, and then back to Arusha. We want to return to Arusha at 5 p.m., but we are open to changing our plans if there is a flight to catch or other obligations.
